Roleplaying Rules
1. Rules for creating Characters are found here.
2. Receive your starter Pokémon first before role playing anywhere with your character.
3. Visit the towns/cities in order and collect a Gym Badge (if there is one) before moving on.
4. While roleplaying in character, you must write at least a small paragraph for each post or your journey may not be replied to. Use your judgement to determine whether you have written enough.
5. When a thread you were roleplaying in is finished, please put [F] or [D] or something indicating it's completed in the title so that a member of staff can move it to the Archives.
6. Do not request a certain Pokémon to appear in your thread. I'd personally discourage people from hinting. You may list your favourite Pokémon in you profile and if staff members come across it, it may sway the way they mod you.
7. Only REAL Pokémon are allowed for roleplaying.
8. Pokémon will learn moves as they grow in level. You will be prompted in your roleplaying thread to choose between moves if the number of moves exceed four.
9. Only the moderator has the power to control wild Pokémon in an RP. You cannot decide whether your Pokémon's attacks hit or whether your Pokémon receives damage (i.e. you cannot make your Pokémon dodge; only misses can occur). The only thing you control is the move you order your Pokémon to do. For an in depth guide to Battling, read our Battle System guide.

Other RPG System Rules:
Evolution & Moves:
Pokémon evolve after a battle ends whilst roleplaying if they meet the level requirement. You will be asked by a moderator whether you want your Pokémon to evolve or not. Read the special evolution section in the Library regarding special evolutions.
The same idea applies when your Pokémon learns a new move; you will be prompted to select a maximum of 4 moves.
Leveling:
Switch out:
All Pokémon that are switched out will gain 1 level once the Pokémon it faced is defeated.
Knocking out the defending Pokémon:
When a Pokémon knocks out the defending Pokémon, it gains levels according to the level difference.
Level Difference = Level of your Pokémon - Level of the other Pokémon.
See the table below for the converted values.
When a Pokémon is captured:
If a Pokémon is captured, it essentially has the same effect as being knocked out (i.e. you Pokémon will gain the same number of levels had it knocked out the other Pokémon.
Table 1: Level Difference to Level Gain
Level Difference | Level(s) Gained
0 or less | 3 Levels
1-4 | 2 Levels
5-9 | 1 Level
10+ | none
